MOVIE REVIEWS #2: “RONDO”

Artsploitation Films released the crime thriller “Rondo”, directed by Drew Barnhardt in 2018.

An alcohol addicted veteran staying with his sister seeks professional help. The recommendation from the therapist is he needs to get laid and leaves with the address to an escort service and the password “Rondo”.

Taking the advice from his counselor, he gives the password and enters the apartment and meets two other gentlemen seeking professional help. The rules are explained and paperwork signed it’s time for therapy to begin. While waiting his turn, he witnesses how twisted and dark this club really is and narrowly makes his escape. Once home, he explains the previous night’s events to the police and his sister. Sad to say, neither of them believe him and eventually he meets his end at the hands of the club proprietors all witnessed by his sister.

Enlisting the help of her father, they devise a plan to track down the responsible parties and exact their revenge. All boxes of the tag line checked. Sex, Murder and revenge.

I found this on Roku and started it for background noise while I spring cleaned the basement. Though slow in the third act, it has enough twist, blood and nudity that I was paying more attention to the movie than the cleaning. Nothing here is done over the top and you won’t be saying I’ve never seen that before but… it is worth a watch.
